GENERAL INFO
In regular courses we teach basic form of Argentine Tango called TANGO PISTA that is usually applied at dance parties called milongas. Dancers with some experience can also visit our NUEVO OPEN CLASSES aimed at a modern and relaxed dance style of TANGO NUEVO.
TANGO PISTA REGULAR COURSES
Courses JANUARY - MARCH 2026 start on 6 Jan and consist of 12 lessons, i.e. 12 weeks. BEGINNERS T1 and IMPROVERS T2 have their lessons on Tuesdays, INTERMEDIATES T3 on Thursdays. You can make up for any missed lesson in parallel courses or at Thursday praktikas 20:30-21:00 during which you will be introduced to the topic of the lesson by present lecturers.
Registrations before 24 Dec get 20% CHRISTMAS DISCOUNT.

DEMO LESSON FOR BEGINNERS
Would you like to try out Argentine Tango? You are welcome to a DEMO LESSON OF TANGO BASICS on Sunday 14 December at 15:00 - 16:00 at Truhlarska St. 8, Prague 1. The lesson is guided by Yulia and Honza and is free of charge. Both couples and individuals are welcome!
TANGO NUEVO OPEN CLASSES + PRAKTIKAS
Every Thursday 19:30-20:30 we offer NUEVO OPEN CLASS followed by 30 min NUEVO PRAKTIKA 20:30 - 21:00. The classes are for pre-int and higher levels, no previous registration needed.
You can come just to 1 class or get a pack of 5 or 10 classes at a reduced price.
VENUE AND REGISTRATION
The courses take place in a beautiful historical dance hall of SVČ "JEDNIČKA" (FREE TIME CENTER PRAGUE 1), TRUHLÁŘSKÁ STREET 8 (see map) with quality wooden floor and separate dressing rooms.
Applications are submitted by couples through the APPLICATION FORM COURSES JANUARY - MARCH 2026.
LECTURERS
The courses are lead by HONZA and YULIA, experienced lecturers with more than 20 years of dancing and teaching practice. As a dance couple they are rooted in traditional tango which they like to change now and then for a more relaxed nuevo style. They both studied with famous dancers in Europe and in Buenos Aires. And they keep studying even now because they perceive tango as a "neverending journey".
COURSE CONTENT
BEGINNERS T1 will focus on the basics of Argentine tango from embrace to communication within the couple in order to achieve harmony and improvisation skills. They will be introduced to the fundamentals, basic step and figures as well as tango music and culture.
IMPROVERS T2 and INTERMEDIATES T3 will reinforce basic technique, flow of dance and musicality. They will progress to more complex figures and variations. A couple of lessons will be dedicated to milonga, tango vals and tango nuevo!
TANGO NUEVO OPEN CLASSES will demonstrate the differences between traditional and nuevo style. Students will practise basic principles of Nuevo, that is changing of close and open embrace, elasticity, increased dimension of movements or playing with axis. Each lesson will focus on one movement/figure typical for Tango Nuevo.
