GENERAL INFO
TRADITIONAL ARGENTINE TANGO features close or open embrace and is charactarised by improvisation based on perfect connection between dance partners. It is the basic form of tango which - together with tango vals and tango milonga - is made use of at dance parties called milongas.
TRADITIONAL ARGENTINE TANGO COURSES ON TUESDAYS
Courses JANUARY - MARCH 2026 for BEGINNERS T1 and INTERMEIDIATES T2 take place on TUESDAYS, start on 6 Jan and consist of 12 lessons, i.e. 12 weeks. You can make up for any missed lesson in parallel courses or at THURSDAY PRAKTILONGAS 19:30-21:00.

VENUE AND REGISTRATION
The courses take place in a beautiful historical dance hall of SVČ "JEDNIČKA" (FREE TIME CENTER PRAGUE 1), TRUHLÁŘSKÁ STREET 8 (see map) with quality wooden floor and separate dressing rooms.
Applications are submitted by couples through the APPLICATION FORM COURSES JANUARY - MARCH 2026.
LECTURERS
The courses are lead by JAN and YULIA, experienced lecturers with more than 20 years of dancing and teaching practice. As a dance couple they have roots in traditional tango which they like to change now and then for a more relaxed nuevo style. They both studied with famous dancers in Europe and in Buenos Aires. And they keep studying even now because they perceive tango as a "neverending journey".
COURSE CONTENT
BEGINNERS T1 focus on the basics of Argentine tango from embrace to communication within the couple in order to achieve harmony and improvisation skills. They are introduced to the fundamentals: basic step and figures as well as tango music and culture.
INTERMEDIATES T2 reinforce basic technique, flow of dance and musicality. They progress to more complex figures and variations. A couple of lessons are dedicated to milonga, tango vals and tango nuevo! The students are also introduced into the culture and rules of tango parties called milongas.
